A former chocolate factory reimagined, xoco325 is a new condominium that features a striking cast-aluminum façade with vertical gardens over a glass curtain wall. For the project’s marketing campaign, we commissioned the critically acclaimed illustrator Shawn Martibrough –who has developed artwork for both DC Comics and Marvel Entertainment– to create a unique world of superheroes, an ancient chocolate recipe, and an evil robot amid the old and new architecture.
Shawn Martinbrough’s work for DC Comics includes his critically-acclaimed two year collaboration with novelist Greg Rucka on “Batman: Detective Comics”. His graphic novel projects for Marvel Entertainment include “Luke Cage Noir”, “Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive” and
a Captain America graphic novel exclusively for the U.S. Army & Air Force Exchange Service. This special project had a million copy print run and was distributed on military bases across the country with the release of the feature film, “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
Shawn is currently illustrating “Thief of Thieves”, the bestselling graphic novel series written by Robert Kirkman, the creator of the hit AMC television series, “The Walking Dead”. “Thief of Thieves” is in development for a live-action television series.
Shawn is the co-creator and co-author of “The REN”. The upcoming 200 page graphic novel is set during the Harlem Renaissance and will be published by First Second Books.
